    Remember when he closed the book on the askewniverse? Then did sequels and reboots?
    I actually thought that Smith's best thing in years was Red State. He should have done more stuff outside of that universe.

    Yeah, his early stuff was so sharp and funny. I’ve avoided most of his movies over the past 20 years because it’s just been consistently disappointing. It seems like the cameos must be the only reason he gets funding.
