FACE Adriana Chechik - spending her 32nd birthday hiking with her dogs - 14 Nov, 2023

"Spent my 32nd birthday on a road trip to Washington. I stopped in Napa for a hot air balloon ride. Up to the redwoods to hike with my dogs. Then to the Cascades. Before losing God Dog I had always wanted to take him to the top of three peaks. So when I broke my back I told my dog Pork I will walk and we will take that hike for your brother. Little did I know I would also be extending my family with two more pups. This is the first year as an adult I went and did nothing but relax for my birthday. The last two years have been some of the hardest of my life. After breaking my back I mourned not only my dogs death but the end of a 9 year relationship that was toxic. I was blessed to have the time sitting in bed while healing to learn how much I needed to work on myself. Growing up with no real family and SA had pushed me into adult performing. While I have enjoyed it I went 10 years never even saying my own name or hearing ppl around me use anything but my stage name. I forced my real persona to hide under a character. While I am still working on healing my trauma and learning to separate myself from “Adriana” it has been a hard but beautiful journey to reconnecting with who I am. I’m proud of myself for turning my darkest times into my biggest lessons. I struggle everyday with back pain, and emotion. However I know my strength and I welcome this next year with fight in my body and love in my heart. Here’s to growing and aging. Sending love to anyone who feels hopeless, lost or alone. Know it won’t always be so and you can be your own savior."
