The only pre-Disney stuff that was actually canon were the OT films, the PT films, and the CG Clone Wars show/film. Everything else? All the EU novels, all the video games, all the cartoons and mediocre kids shows, all the comics, were glorified fan fiction. Disney didn't do anything with it except remind people that it never was, and gave all of it its own special category. As far as George Lucas was concerned, he was fine with others creating their own stories to tell based on his work, but it was all in a separate universe, disconnected from his work. He had no interest in being limited in what stories he could tell due to the writings of others.


Now, can we stop with this crap? This isn't a Star Wars, or even general TV, discussion forum. This is a forum for a bunch of horny people posting and looking at pictures and videos of attractive celebrities, and we should stay on topic.

 

Actually, all those "EU novels, all the video games, all the cartoons and mediocre kids shows, all the comics" were considered Star Wars Canon by Lucas Arts as long as they didn't contradict anything created or said by George Lucas! They may not have the same weight as stuff done by Lucas but they were considered canon and EVERY author wanting to create something had to make sure they don't contradict some previously published material. Lucas Arts actually had an entire division whose sole job was to ensure that happened.

Also, while George Lucas wasn't directly involved with those works, EVERY major decision and event that happened in those works had to be approved by Lucas and every author had to follow rather strict guidelines set by Lucas...

Not to mention that since Disney stuff isn't created by Lucas, it can also be considered as nothing more then glorified, poorly written fan fiction.
