I don't want to get too far off topic, and I'll give my answer, but this reminds me of a time when an interviewer asked Frank Zappa if, since he has long hair, does that make him a woman. He replied with "you have a wooden leg, does that make you a table?" I have always had long hair and only now feel like going in the complete opposite direction. Never felt any less like a guy because of the hair.

That being said, of preferences, it always depends. I have seen women that I think look good through any haircut, and some where I almost cannot recognise them with the hair change and don't care much for it. Demi Lovato I liked with that long-hair-but-head-partly-shave-entirely look that caught on some years ago... but not so much with a pixie cut, interestingly enough. Skin Diamond has had every haircut I could think of (even with all kinds of colouring) to bald, and I liked all of it. Then there are some women I've never seen with almost any length of hair (mainly Aisha Hinds), and I'd probably not like how they look *with* hair.

Not bothered though some pull it off better then others.

Halle Berry is another woman who can pull off almost any hair style imaginable. Some of her most famous looks are with short hair.

To be clear I left out something in the hair quote. Shave Zappa an Kristen Stewart down they may look slightly the same. Rub Zappa's head and that's smooth but kind of spiky guy hair. Rub Kristen's and that's pure erotic silk. It feels so nice. I guess my point is it isn't ultimately length. It's the genetic sex.

It depends, although I tend to think that even women that look good in short hair look better with it long. For example, Emma Corrin wears a pixie cut and is pretty attractive, yet I just saw "Nosferatu" and in it she has long hair and she is absolutely stunning, almost unrecognizably beautiful.
