DEBATE What VHS/Beta/LD did you burn out as a kid because of one nude scene and it was all you had?

Basic Instinct. My Mother had it on VHS as she's a big Michael Douglas fan and once i found it while looking for something to watch at around i dunno 10 or 11 years old i was in for a rather shocking but nice surprise.

 

Tanya Roberts in Sheena. Full frontal scene where she's bathing in a lake or creek, I forget.

 

Raquel Welch did a live show where she was singing and dancing on stage. No idea what it was called but I recorded it from HBO or Showtime. and at the end of a number she had her shirt ripped off, so she was topless but covering her boobs with her hands. As she exited stage left, she dropped one hand just as she reached the exit, and for one glorious frame, her left breast was exposed. This was sometime in the early-mid 80s and Beta was still pretty new. That tape stayed on that one frame a lot! The machine was so early that it didn't even have frame advance, just pause, so it was tricky to hit that exact frame as the video played.

I remember the Sony machines were far too expensive for me in those days, so I had to wait a year or two until Sony licensed the Beta technology to Sanyo before I could afford it. Even that one was over $1,000. Either VHS hadn't come out yet, or VHS resolution was still lower than Beta's, I don't recall which, so I went with Beta. Of course, when VHS eventually killed the market for Beta, I was stuck with hundreds of Beta tapes I could no longer play (including this one) once my last Beta player died. Ah, the early pioneering days of Beta and the IBM PC (the first PC HDD didn't even come out until 1983, all 10MB of it LOL!).

 

Boogie Nights. Heather Graham. One hand on rewind, the other stroking.

 

I sady don't recall any particular standout vhs moments, but I well remember the frustration of seeing things on a recording but the resolution being too poor on pause to get a good look.

 

Hopefully somebody here can find that video. I would love to see that.

 

Fast Times At Ridgemont High

 

The Cool Surface with Teri Hatcher comes to mind.

 

Burned out my Embrace of the Vampire VHS for the Alyssa Milano/Charlotte Lewis scene, so it became one of my first DVDs. I also remember Attack of the 60 Foot Centerfold being a good test for my 4-head VCR.

 

Patsy Kensit in Lethal Weapon 2 was the first one that came to mind. When I was younger I spent a lot of time trying to get a good quality pause on Lea Thompson when she leaning forward out of the car on prom night in Back to the Future.

 

Along with plenty of others mentioned here, Showgirls and Single White Female. The summers pre-internet when I was stuck home alone all day every week day were nice.

 

Color of Night, The Lover, and Embrace of the Vampire. Jane March and Alyssa Milano were huge crushes.

 

Oh, also. Not a movie, but I probably wrecked more tape slow-moing through episodes of Trading Spaces whenever Paige Davis wore a blouse or anything I could look down lol. Never found what I was looking for, but that leak from a couple years ago made my entire adulthood.

 

The Hot Spot (1990). An 18-year-old Jennifer Connelly, fully nude. It was (and still is) glorious to see.

She was my first celebrity crush. The 90's were ruled by the Jennifers; Connelly, Aniston and Love Hewitt.

 

This is mine too. Most of my "material" came later on DVD, but my mom's VHS copy of Pretty Woman was the earliest and only cassette tape I can remember using.

 

The Brooke shields films also,plus Susan surranden was nude in one of the same ones too.
