God this woman is awesome In an era where it's almost become the ultimate offense and damn near criminal for a woman to embrace being a sex symbol, Sydney don't give a damn and is proud to showcase and promote it every chance she gets even though she is basically an A-lister now (if not, then she is close to it).

I don't feel anything either way about this (except morbid curiosity as to the quality of the soap). If you got it, flaunt it. If you can make money from something, go for it. No one is forcing anyone to buy it after all. It's not like she will be able to do this decades from now, strike while the iron is hot, and it won't get hotter for her than the present time where she is right near or at A-List status and arguably seen as the top sex symbol of her generation.

 

Calm down everyone. This is a marketing ploy. Its entire purpose is to get all over the news and social media, which it has been remarkably successful at. Sydney Sweeney is not "selling her bathwater", for goodness sakes, she is participating in a viral marketing campaign.

However much it actually is her bathwater, she’s still telling people it's her bathwater to make money – which, to be fair, is quite smart, given that any woman as famous as her willing to do that would rake it in. She's very savvy in general. In every professional and “personal” thing she puts out, she maintains a persona that doesn’t include any aspect that wouldn't be likeable to the average guy.

 

I mean, the backstory of hers is she presented something like a multi-tiered presentation to her parents as a kid of how she would go about becoming a successful actress, timelines and all. So, she obviously knows exactly what she is doing. Can't fault her for making maximum money when her star is shining its brightest, very very rare for anyone to remain as successful (commercially and critically) and popular as she has been the last few years for a very lengthy period of time, there will inevitably be a lull and new stars that rise up to challenge for the throne so to speak.
