Unfortunatelly, she will now pause the workouts for the time being, that downhill crash and broken leg + maybe other damages she might have suffered .... it doesn't look good :(

She is one tough, tough person. I can't understand doing a downhill with a blown out knee. Not sure of anything that causes more severe lateral stress on a knee. But that's her body and business. Hope she recovers fully but STOP SKIING.

Yeah I’d say her skiing days are over, but she’s tough. Who knows what she will do.

Her skiing days are over, no question there. The question now is how extensive is the damage and will she have trouble walking as a result?

She broke the leg that was already injured. That rehab is going to be torturous.

Sad. But sport is very unkind to vanity projects. She shouldn't have been skiing professionally when she's had partial knee replacement

Vonn was ranked No. 1 in the world in the women’s downhill prior to her accident at the Milano Cortina Games.
I'd say that was a bit more than a vanity project...

She's also 41, retired for about five years and is clearly plagued with injuries.

She wanted to prove that she could still do it. Which is admirable. But you've really got to listen to what your body is telling you, and her body was telling her 'You're 41 years old'. Unfortunately she didn't listen

I would wait before making end-of-career statements. Everybody said she was done 6 years ago too.

She'll be lucky to not come out with a limp.

An old saying is 'Father Time is undefeated'. No matter how elite an athlete is, or their training regimen or desire or guts, there is a shelf life. Skill and instincts fade, speed fades, athleticism fades. There is a reason you never see a lifelong competitive athlete, cause the human body isn't an invincible and ageless being. Thus, Father Time is undefeated. Another saying is 'The mind and/or spirit is willing, but the body isn't', I think Lindsey reached this point once her ACL ruptured a few weeks ago but her mind and spirit refused to listen and now she may have a permanent limp, she's lucky it didn't become an even worse disaster, perfectly healthy skiers have died in races and she went into it with one leg.

The scars on her legs tell the story of how she has numerous leg surgeries. Probably had a lot of weakness leading the more injuries.

The "ego" that put her on the podium 7 out of the 8 races she competed in, including 2 World Cup downhill race wins in the 2025-2026 season? She earned the right to be there. Did you actually watch the run where she crashed? Did you see how her shoulder and pole caught that gate? No way anyone would have done that and not crashed. It had nothing to do with her injuries, as she had most of her weight on her right ski (her right leg is her good leg) going into that turn. She took an aggressive line, made one tiny error and ended up paying the price.

Well, good luck to her recovery. At her age, I'd hang it up.

I’m not in anyway an expert but I don’t know that I believe anyone else would have necessarily came out with the injury she did either.

I wish her the best regardless and respect her. She’s a tough broad.

The boxer Bernard Hopkins won World titles at ages 48 and 49 and certainly earned the right to compete against Sergei Kovalev and Joe Smith Jr. Doesn't mean he should have and, sure enough, in his last fight against Joe Smith, he got knocked clean out of the ring

Know when to leave the game, before the game retires you
No it isn't. Her right knee's the one they had to reconstruct with partial titanium knee replacement. She did not have a 'good' leg
