An intense piece of Australian cultural history for you all, who don't know this story.

Bunkie, the blonde in the first caps is Bunkie King. The actor is Jack Thompson, one of Australia's most famous film and tv actors of the 1970s and 80s.

At the time of shooting this film, Thompson about 6 years into a highly publicised 15 year polyamorous relationship with Bunkie and her older sister Leona, where they spent most of the time living together on his 440 hectare farm in northern New South Wales.

Bunkie left after 15 years, and a few years ago went on the record to clear up some misconceptions about the relationship, especially to clarify that she and her sister never had any physical intimacy. They shared Jack, and when he was home with them, he'd alternate bedrooms between them. And all of his other lovers that he brought over, or stayed with separately.

Leona stayed on with Jack, and they eventually had a son together. She's extremely private, so there's not much ready information available about her, but I believe they're still together.

It was the swinging 70s, so this wasn't scandalous enough at the time to impact Thompson's career.

But looking back now, he was clearly a predator. Thompson was a 29 year old tv star when they met, started dating 20 year old Leona, whom he'd met through their mother, then started secretly romancing 15 year old Bunkie at the same time.

When Leona found out she tried to leave, but Thompson managed to convince the girls that he was in love with them both, and they should give the threeway relationship a chance. Which they agreed to, and spent the relationship competing with each other for his affection. They dropped contact after Bunkie left. No nice way to dress all that up.
