My point was neither were better fits than Lupita imo. Charlize is way older and Diane was a product of a different kind of Hollywood

 

Sorry, but I really don't see Lupita Nyong-o as being 'The face that launched a thousand ships'. Like I said at the beginning, no disrespect, but her beauty is more of an acquired taste.

I mean really, Nolan should have gotten Sydney Sweeney for the role. But, of the people actually in the movie, I could more see people willing to fight and die for Charlize Theron or Anne Hathaway than Lupita Nyong-o

I mean, when you're casting an actress to play the most beautiful woman who ever lived, there's always going to be controversy and disagreements. People complained (and are still complaining, apparently) when they cast Diane Kruger for the role and Diane Kruger is beautiful. But, even objectively, even on here, how many times has Lupita Nyong-o topped our yearly poll of Top 100 celebrities? Or even been in contention? Most of the arguments on this site in recent years have been about whether Sydney Sweeney or Alexandra Daddario is hotter

 

This place isn't the be all, end all. It leans to a more Eurocentric standard of beauty not to mention even in that context most ppl don't consider Sydney beautiful, more that she has a nice body. You can't make a argument about "objectively" when beauty is subjective. My point earlier is that Diana was the beneficiary of a different time in Hollywood when blonde, blue eyed was the default. Lupita as an example represents a wider range of beauty. Zendaya as well.
