LEAKS Leaks Discussions Pt 2 (Read first post before posting in this thread)

Yes, but this is the debate. What does 'expectation of privacy' and 'right to privacy' really mean to us in the 21st century when your private data can be viewed by world governments without a warrant, or by the hardware or software manufacturer, or the social media platforms, all of whom will sell it to the highest bidder?

One might argue (and I'm not making this argument but one might argue it) that Emma Watson has no more expectation of privacy uploading her intimate personal nudes to a device that can connect to the internet as she does being photographed by paparazzi on a secluded but still public beach

 

So yall were fine with private pics here for 20 years and really suddenly all woke up with a conscience on the same day huh?

 

I dont think he meant woke like that. I think he meant the literal usage as in the past tense of 'waking up.'

I get both sides of this debate. And i understand its selfish of me to enjoy celeb leaks when they happen. However i feel like at least half the people on this site came here as a result of the leaks part. Id imagine if the infographics exist, the sign ups for this site probably skyrocketed more during the fappening then any other time in its existence.

 

I'd like to think I'd know better than to argue morality on a porn site. Yes, enjoying and disseminating leaks of private pics is immoral. But so are paparazzi pics. So is ripping sex scenes out of Hollywood movies so that people can download them and watch them without paying to see the movie. So is ripping OF creator content so that people can watch that content without paying for it

A large portion of the pics on the site are amateur pics. A non-zero percentage of them have most certainly been released non-consensually. Same scenario the celebs are in except . Should we remove amateurs too? And what of the hundreds of OF girls whose content gets pirated here? Most of them don't make a livable wage and yet everyone feels nothing for them. You provide thousands of users a resource to assure those girls most likely remain broke. You can play this morality monopoly a dozen different ways once people start drawing lines. You find it antagonistic but it's just chatting. I just found it funny that "celeb leaks" was the first buoy anyone felt was too far to swim too given all the ones we've already passed along the way.

 

Also, I'd like to challenge this. Yes, leaking for revenge is some of all leaks. But if some hacker leaks Scarlett Johansson's private pictures, it isn't because he hates Scarlett Johansson, or women generally. It's because Scarlett Johansson is a big celebrity and people want to see her nude. Misogyny has nothing to do with it.

He never said that he felt strongly about protecting OF creators. Just that pirating their content is almost as, if not just as, bad as leaking their private pictures and yet nobody seems to care about the former while decrying the latter as immoral, 'criminal behaviour' and 'woman-hating behaviour'

 

I don't know why you insist on continuing to misjudge my tone after explicitly stating I'm not attacking you. Good grief, take a breath and calm down. That it's all a ball of hypocrite twine was my point but you're too defensive to let me get there.

 

can we post leaked amateurs? A lady named ariana white has leaks.

Boy, that's what me drinking bourbon gets us. I just really like PHUN and don't want it to get shut down b/c someone intentionally/unintentionally post pics with underage content.

I really hope this is the last thing I comment on regarding this, even though I obviously stirred the pot. I will not make that mistake again...

 

DM didn't work, so here goes: I made a drunk post. People responded. But I really just want to say that this site is what it is because of the moderators. They are not "burnt out" or even "tired of our sh!t" even though I wouldn't blame them if they were. Just didn't want to give anyone the impression at all that I was questioning the mods. Have PHUN y'all.

 

Personally, I would have no objection to leaks being banned. I also have no objection to leaks being allowed. There are reasonable arguments in both directions.
