    Nick could have not gone to jail at all if he didn't want to

    he stood up as a man and did the right thing. of course it's a tragedy his friend got hurt but he holds just as much blame in the situation as Nick does. you can't blame him forever .. he's the one who's going to have to live with the guilt for the rest of his life
