  3. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

Its simple, everytime you log into RS check the url

I'm logged in automatically so if i'm asked to log in that is pretty much telling me to check the URL

I think alot of people dont look at the stickies (seeing as how 90% of new guys don't know where the rules are) so it will get noticed more if it gets bumped and kept in floatation.

Nice thread, I have a remark on it ...

    What about the linkbucks links?

I personnaly hate these since they url is linkbucks which is not a site that will harm your pc but what happens if they link to a site that can harm your pc?
you can't see the forward link just by hoovering on that specific linkbucks link :(

  12. The safest option is to go into your RS account and set "direct downloads"
(In the premium zone under settings)

Then if you ever click an RS link and it asks you to log in you know its a phishing scam.
    :D

Once you have set "direct downloads"
Simply never download anything that asks you to log in :D

This way you will NEVER get phished :D :D

In case people didn't already know, Rapidshare has incorporated a feature called the "Security Lock" that prevents people from modifying anything in your account without a special password that Rapidshare emails to you.

So, even if you do get your username and password phished, the phisher can log into your account but can't change any settings like your password or steal your rapidpoints.

SO log into your accounts and activate the SECURITY LOCK!

you can also usa a firefox addon called greasemonkey. which when installed not only tells you if a link is active by putting a green tick next to it, also helps you spot dodgy links because there is no tick next to it. simple but efective.

I use a download manager (FreeDownloadManager) for rapidshare links. The RS username and password are stored in the FDM application -- it's not possible to be fooled using it. It has saved me from many fake links.
