poor man's kate perry. her face is maybe a little better, but kp win's in the body category. kp ftw. i've never seen her in anything except The Happening and that wasn't all that great.

 

Maybe that should be the other way around as Perry has had admirers for a few months while Deschanel has had them for many years.

 

I was waiting for a comparison with Katy Perry...

Zooey: Has talent and class.
Katy: Has boobs and marketing.

To me is like comparing a Rolls Royce with an Honda, both great cars but I prefer the refinement.

Katy perry seems a little trashy though. Zooey is more elegant and seems nice.

 

Yes it's funny occasionally seeing people post saying "wow, Zooey looks like Katy Perry!" when Zooey's been in the public eye a lot longer.

 

shows that you get a lot more fame for one hit song than from being a supporting actress in movies. i just looked her up on imdb and i see why she's not so famous. i've never heard of almost all of her movies and I watch a lot of movies. i've seen live free die harder, but don't remember her. i only know her from The Happening and that was a huge letdown as a movie. i doubt most people know her at all and if they do it's from that crap movie. think she get's stopped by people when she goes shopping? doubt it. unless they mistake her for kate perry.

 

Yeah, music gives you more fame because it's more cross-cultural and viral; even if a song doesn't interest you, you can hear it on radio, on TV ads etc to the point where people get sick of it (much more often than they get sick of hearing about a movie). In contrast, people tend to remember the people in movies only if they cared about the movie; if it's some arty or small film then people who see blockbusters ignore it, and will (for example) first see/hear about Tilda Swinton in the Narnia movie even though she was well known for her non-mainstream work.

I first saw Zooey in Almost Famous (which I think IS a well known movie), but yes she mostly plays supporting roles. So we all agree she's less famous, but when you do know her it just seems funny to hear people saying Zooey (the older one) looks like Katy (the younger one).

 

Zooey rules.

When Katy (lovely as she is), has gone the way of the dodo , Zooey will still be making smaller bidget movies and albums that dont get her universally recognized but garner he loads of loyal fans.
