    It's not much different in the states. Of course, the American media is so powerful that they will sensationalize anything. I actually just saw a sensationalized account of Travolta's 16 year old son dying. It was despicable. American's are simply ass backwards when it comes to sexuality. Blame the religious right. It's funny. Its almost acceptable to get aroused by violence here. It permeates everything. The news, entertainment, fetish sites about the erotica of murdering women. :confused:

    So many celebs avoid sexuality and nudity (unless they need some quick self promotion or cash) that when it does occur, it's headline news. Forget some war somewhere, or starving children, Britney showed her cooter! :(

    That being said, I'll take a government that lets me make my own decisions over one that tells me what I can and cannot enjoy any ol' time. With communism comes restriction after restriction. Particularly when it comes to sexuality/nudity. I'm amazed that form of government still exists in the world.

    Yah, but when they are on one of the finest female specimens this world has to offer, how can we blame them? I'm still gagga over the fact that this happened. I still am just blown away and all excitable every time I see anything on this topic!! Although, I admit I'm not like that for most women. But she is perfect to me (minus the douche bag she is with. that shows a real issue with her intelligence).

    north American society is just as oppressive when it comes to sexuality as communism. in fact, a large portion of the world are like that. while it is true pornography is accepted in our society (but just barely) and sexually suggestive material surround us constantly, this type of material is only considered ok if it promotes mainstream stereotypes of sexuality (i.e. heterosexual sex). other things such as fetishes and homosexuality are considered taboo. just because things like gays, S & M allowed here doesn't mean its widely accepted (things like gay-bashing and protests happen)

    is absolute terms, yes, north america is less oppressive than communism, but it picks and chooses which ideas pertaining to sexuality are ok.
