Haven't gone there based on the cheney interview they posted like a month after obama became prez, but I am enjoying this conversation. Bottom line...newspapers are dead, which is sad.

I agree ... but I can't complain too much. I used to read one or two papers daily. now I just get the Sunday papers .... and then don't always read them.

It is funny the wide scope of people on this site that you may not know! I never met or have seen them scribe.

It is like when I was a lurker for years, I came here and totally admired and looked forward to the c-through posts in the celeb x-ray thread, or snakefinger and jayhoo in celebs.

I've read the paper (with a few exceptions) everyday since I was a teenager lo those many years ago. Frankly, I don't like getting my news off of the internet for some reason.

When I went to college I wanted to be a journalist. I haven't finished, but am ready to go back. I have trepidations about finishing as a journalist. In the past couple years though, I can see that major news or sports sites may take the place with profit of a newspaper purely based on advertising monies. I am invigorated some by that.

I've tried to have a chat with everyone I admire around here, if only to let them know I appreciate their contributions, whatever they may be.

I didn't know snake got banned.

 

I was talking with someone about that today. they noticed Snake would use one large picture hotlinked to preview his sets. they said something about he was using image hosts that were not approved. which is a clear violation of the rules.
