    I was going to respond with some further reasoning but decided it was not germane to the thread. I do agree that #247 would do that specific post justice in 1080p and just might upload it in 1080p on a milestone post, but not right now.

    Right now Collector accounts do not appear to have a space limitation on them, but that will most definitely change in the future (or the time limit will shrink). It is why I eliminated that specific account type as a possiblilty so as to not need to re-upload something in the future.

    WMV is a much wider accepted standard than H.264 and comes stock playable (ie. nothing special needed in a player and can be played right out of the box). That cannot be said for H.264 which requires one to download outside codecs (we will not even get into the audio aspect). Further, the software required to rip and/or convert to WMV is provided gratis by MS (and professional grade).

    ElmerJr, I know that everything you have written concerning 720p vs 1080p is accurate and I might add, succinctly stated.
    However, what you wrote here: "The drop in bitrate is of even less significance as the vast majority of users who would download would not notice the difference or need the higher end bitrate."
    is only true at this moment primarily due to their currently owned display device's quality and capabilities. Many of this year's model BluRay players and some of this year's under $1000 model TV's can decode 1080p wmv via a USB port. Add to that mix the fact that by Christmas this year almost all TV's for sale will be 1080p class with the same situation in computer monitors by this time next year.
    Let's hope that the ISP and Rapidshare conditions change in the near future because there will be a lot more people requesting 1080p from you by this time next year.
