Gina looked good and thru some good punches. and then got out hustled and out muscled.

only chance she had was to stay stand up and outside of this wrestling machine.

 

While I agree that Cyborg has a significant physical advantage, particularly in strength, she used a lot more technique then Gina did. Sure Cyborg's takedowns sucked, but she had much better form on her punches and was clearly dominant on the ground. Better fighter, more serious about being a fighter and not a model.

 

LemonHerb, I vehmently disagree with you saying that Gina isn't serious about fighting. Let's not forget that Gina had not fought in almost a year when this happened, she more then likely had some ring rust.

Gina was also undefeated going into this fight. So let's not give her crap because the media has latched on to her and made her into a superstar and bringing more people to MMA, specifically Women's MMA and Strikeforce.

That being said, I highly dispute the call that the ref made and the "one second before the bell" crap.

The bell rang, then the ref waved his hand to stop it.

The bell rang, the round was over, the fight should have continued. I say Gina got ripped off and should have a rematch somewhere down the line.

 

Amazing girl... so damn beautiful, but kinda wacky mentally i think. I knew she'd lose, theres no way she can compete with top tier fighters with the training mentality she has... she's weaker, smaller, and not as athletic as Cyborg, that chick is a beast. In any event, i love this girl, Thanks for posting these!! Too bad American Gladiators wont be returning with gina in tow ... =(

 

Cyborg is a man! Why did Gina take that fight?

More importantly, when is she going to show us those big tits? Some day we might get lucky enough to see her naked....I'll be patiently waiting for that day to come. Hopefully it will happen when she's fighting. Maybe an accidental boob slip.

 

How do you get ring rust when you are supposedly training hard and sparring at 75-85% contact force in the ring during training camps? Especially for a title fight like this! Come on, Thats an unacceptable excuse, you are as ready as you train to be. She wasnt ready to fight Cyborg because she doesnt yet have the chops to beat her. Im a huge Gina Carano fan, and Carano may be "serious" about fighting, but not to the extent that Cyborg is. Santos has basically dedicated her life to fighting since she was a young girl... that says something about her drive and passion. Gina, on the other hand, has repeatedly not even made weight in the past. That also says something.


I watched the fight a few times, and the ref was watching them like a hawk, he had no clue what time it was in the round. His arms started moving outward and between the girls to motion them to stop the fight JUST BEFORE the buzzer started, that's why the Ref was correct in stopping the fight. There is no "it was at the same time!" BS complaining here. Carano, balled up on the ground, took about 6 unanswered shots to the head before the Ref called it. As a fighter, if you don't want your shit called, DON'T FUCKING HIDE IN A BALL ON THE GROUND. You risk it, maybe take a punch or two, and try to get out of the situation. Accurate call, IMO. She would have only been submitted or TKO'd in the 2nd anyway, i don't think Carano really had a real chance at beating Cyborg on Saturday. IMHO.

 

Just because a girl has an amazingly athletic physique doesnt make them a man. She has strength because she works out insanely hard and gets physical, usable strength, not just muscles for show. I dont see the Williams Sisters getting this much shit, and they are FAR more ripped and muscular than Santos is, and only arguably more attractive... its all based on taste. Hell, throw them in the mens division and they may well dominate there as well. Carano could have beaten any OTHER female fighter, but she can't beat the BEST female fighter in the division right now.

 

Carano is without a doubt a decent fighter. However, the far better fighter won. As for the stoppage, It needed to be done. Carano had gone fetal and was in full give up mode. No need to have the poor girl get absolutely destroyed.

The truth is that most people wanted the attractive girl to win. That's why so many are whining about the stoppage. Nowadays talent seems far less important than marketability. Carano would sell tickets, and is something for male fans to lust after. Cyborg, eh, not so much.

 

Whining about the stoppage? I watched that fight and I was praying for a stoppage! Please do not maul that beautiful face anymore! I totally understand why Cyborg is fighting (just look at her) Carano should have never entered that ring, that was career suicide. They should let Cyborg fight with the men cause I'm pretty sure she'd kick some ass! Carano beautiful babe love her now try something new like modeling or acting! JMO

Nerves, fear and pressure lead to carano's downfall in this fight. I'm not saying that i think carano could have definitely beaten cyborg if it wasn't for those mental factors affecting her, but im sure it at least would have been a much better and longer fight than a mostly one sided 1st round TKO. Hopefully carano can now make a comeback without so much pressure on her. Looking forward to it! And to more hot pics of course
