The only reason peoples say "where is she, whats she doin" is because she refused to say she was actually retiring.

I still like listening to country once in a while, and Shania is a fav, to listen too, and look at.

Not intended as a knock on Canada or Shania (who I personally like, but she's no Loretta Lynn or Patsy Cline...without a lot of producing I suspect she's not great) but where the fuck do you think most of her albums sold?? I'll give you a hint:

Actually, she sold very well overseas - of course, that was mostly after they remixed her albums to be more pop than country, but still...

No, you can't compare her to Loretta Lynn or Patsy Cline at all ..... mainly because any one of her albums sold more copies than all both of them sold in thier careers.

Watch her concert in New York City, rabid fans, no where near Bumfuck.

And watch the finger and asshole smilies, I never went after you personally, I calmly and politely dis-agreed with your opinion of Shania, try to do the same.

 

You may want to reread your post because it certainly seemed filled with vitriol but if that's not how it was intended, my apologies.
I wasn't talking about SALES, or rabid fans because Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn were of a different era when less commercial country music was sold as a general rule and people had a tad of decorum when attending a concert, I was talking about having good natural singing voices and not being an electronically processed marvel. Also, I looked at a map and NYC IS closer to Bumfuck Arkansas than Twatville Austria or Switzerland or wherever in Europe she used Mutt's money to buy the castle. For the record, Patsy Cline DID hold the sales record until Shania herself knocked her off the top of the heap, and I don't have the sales figures but the statement that any Shania album has sold more than "all both of them sold in their careers" would seem to be patently ridiculous.
A quick edit regarding sales... From a quick look at online sources it seems Shania's top selling album sold just over 34 million copies and after adding up just a few of Loretta Lynn/Patsy Cline sales figures I gave it up but suffice it to say when I did we were in excess of 100 million in sales, of course that is due mostly to Loretta Lynn's loooooong career and total number of albums but still nowhere near what the statement said.
