Yeah, I know that, but India would never stand for Pakistan on the Permanent Security Council, and vice versa.

No-one from either your region or the Middle East would ever make it as a permanent member, because there'd be too many other powerful nations kicking up a stink.

In Africa, it's South Africa and...............well, South Africa, mostly.

Well, if we get it in 2018, then you aren't getting it in 2022. Global rotation.

    2006 - Europe
    2010 - Africa
    2014 - South America
2018 - Could be Europe again. Can't see North America getting another crack, and Asia is iffy.

They say they've stopped the rotation, but you know they haven't really. ;)

    Zimbabwe; yeah.

Heh; one of those curiosities of the 20th century, the joint Israeli-South African nuclear program.

Nine individual nations registered their intention to bid with FIFA by the February 2009 deadline: Australia, England, Indonesia, Japan, Qatar, Mexico, Russia, South Korea, and the United States. Additionally Belgium and the Netherlands registered to bid together, as have Portugal and Spain. FIFA confirmed the list of bidders in March, with South Korea and Qatar bidding for 2022 only.

That Portugal and Spain bid is a runner.
South Korea and Japan, no chance.
    Qatar?
Russia might be a stretch; UEFA don't really like having games in Russia. Too much violence, like the bad old days of Western Europe in the 80's.
Mexico and Indonesia seem to be a bit of a stretch, especially for Mexico with Brazil in 2014.

I guess Qatar figure if they throw enough money about, they can snake it.

I don't know; objectively, I think we might have the best shot at 2018. But I don't know.

Lack of stadia could really count against a Belgium-Holland bid.
