    Miley Cyrus Cancels Show Due to Illness

    Miley Cyrus, who has been battling strep throat this week, had to cancel the Friday show of her world tour to rest.

    The young singer announced that she will not be able to perform in Omaha this Friday after a difficult performance in Salt Lake City on Tuesday. According to People, the Omaha show has been rescheduled for Oct. 13.

    After announcing via Twitter that she had woken up with a sore throat, Cyrus struggled through Tuesday’s show. New York Daily News writes that in the middle of singing “7 Minutes,” she suddenly hunched over and ran off stage. A stage manager had to go out on stage and explain the singer’s illness. She resumed the show 15 minutes later.

    According to MTV.com, Cyrus later posted on Twitter: “Thank you, Salt Lake, for being so amazing and supportive. My body is done with me working it so hard. Off to have a very nice peaceful sleep.” She is currently resting up with the support of her family.

    The Party in the U.S.A. will be curtailed this week, as Miley Cyrus has canceled two concert dates due to illness, Disney reps tell EW.

    Her October 2 show in Omaha has now been moved to October 13, and an October 3 date in Kansas City moves to the 17th; all paperless tickets for both will be honored. The sixteen-year-old star has been fighting strep throat for several days, according to her Twitter account.

    Cyrus Nursing Sore Throat On Tour

    Miley Cyrus' U.S. tour is already becoming a pain in the neck -- the teen sensation has been struck down with a sore throat.

    After just two weeks on the road with her Wonder World Tour, the "Hannah Montana" star is struggling with her vocal cords.

    The problems got so bad in Salt Lake City on Tuesday night that Cyrus was forced to flee backstage during one of her performances to receive urgent medical attention. She returned to the stage after a 15-minute break.

    And the star found the perfect way to try and relax in preparation for her next gig -- she was fussed over by her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.

    On her Twitter.com page, she wrote, "Woke up with a sore throat. Why am I always sick?

    "These are the times that my daddy REALLY comes in handy. He made me smile through the worst pain I've ever felt."
