Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads.     He has to reinstall Vista first because all his EXE files are infected and he can't extract the Win7 links I sent him...after Vista is back up and running, I'll help him with Win7 ;)

    Then I'll just have him do a fresh install over Vista (not an upgrade) and he should be all set

    I hope he comes on soon and I hope everything went okay for him...he's never done an OS install before

    That's what I told him...the first time you do an OS install can be intimidating, but as long as you pay attention to the questions on the screen, everything should go fine. And then after you do it a couple of times, an OS install is no big deal!
