    Newton was known for that "style" of nude photography. Not using a lot, if any kind of artificial/studio lighting, but just shooting as he saw it, with available light. So you're not wrong in saying it looks amateurish. Studio photography does not always leave much to the imagination, and almost everything is "posed" or set up and can give just a little of a plastic feel to it, but shooting in the above style makes you think further than the image itself. It makes you into a voyeur, not just a viewer.

    Still the best thread by miles.
