  3. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

Sorry, I went against my decision to ever upload anything to rapidshare again by uploading scene one. I only did this because of a request. As I mentioned, I have mirrors for the rest of the scenes on my blog, but I wont be uploading anymore of them to RS. If it was up to me, I would like to see RS get banned from all forums, but I understand that many long time members have most of their files there. Truth is (as painful as it might be) rapidshare is on its last legs. Everyone has their choice of any file host they choose, but I can only give my advice. If you want files thats gonna be useful in the near future, you might not want to choose RS as your host!

What is your evidence for this claim? And what is wrong with RS? I pay a subscription and have never had a problem. The real problem is that there are too many hosts around these days, so unless you pay for subscriptions to them all you will have to use the utterly shitty free download option most of the time.

Redder100, hopefully Mungy's post above clears it up for you. Luckily I have been moving all my files hosted on RS to Hotfile during the last 2 - 3 months. Its been a painful process, but I have saw this coming for a while. IMO, what RS is attempting to do is clear the books of all the massive amounts of points that users have build up over the years, in order to avoid paying them. If RS wish to compete with host like Hotfile, Sharing Matrix, etc. they realize that they are going to eventually have to reward the uploader, or completely fade away. Problem is, they dont want to pay for all the points that users have on the table already. My opinion is, once they clear everyone with points back to zero, they will then attempt to lure users back by offering a rewards program similar to other host(thus dodging the massive amount they owe for past collection of points!). This will be their only option, or they will completely die. I base my opinion on past moves that RS have made. However, like I said in my previous post, to each his own. Some people are 100 percent faithful to RS, I dont knock that. I just attempt to share my files, and learn from past mistakes! In my opinion RS policy has always been to piss on its uploaders and tell them its raining! This is just another example of that!
