Sharingmatrix and Hotfile

That shit sucks, I had to get Malwarebytes to get rid of that crap!!

I tried to use sharingmatrix tonight and there was a 10 minute wait for a clip?! Fuck that!!! Went to a hotfile thread and downloaded the file with only a 59 second wait, but there is a 1 file per half hour limit,,,,WTF?! Both these file hosts suck ass!!!!! I guess I will watch for rapidshare threads until my rapidsshare account expires then maybe see about switching to an MU account.

I agree with the previous posters who suggest changing the rules to have people who post a thread have which site is the file host so we don't have to waste out time clicking threads that look good only to be disapointed that the file is hosted by a shit site.

 

Well, it's free and therefor i have no problems with captchas. Give those filehosters a change of earning a few bucks, nothing is really for free ...

Seems now the only altruistic hoster, but of course it's not. The only one who is earning money with RS is RS itself, and now even more since they don't offer you a chance of renewing your account via RS points/downloads.
The new RS business model is self-terminating when it comes to hosting porn/illegal stuff and that seems to be exactly what they want. Getting their server free of all that hosted porn within the next half year or year, after all our Rapids are used up.

About the board troubles: maybe it was too much to also allow SM, they are advertising their payouts very agressivley, maybe only HF would be enough.
Some has been suggested, maybe a special section should be added, like "Spammers Paradise" where these new hosts are allowed (and not in the normal section), so everybody knows what to expect.
Hope the mods have success, zero tolerance for spammers ...

 

Once again, my friends, RS is a business - they're supposed to make money. Apparently it was not happening with the old model (everybody store there and post, and get points and then downloaders will buy memberships to avoid the wait).

I only have about 5 Gb stored there, as a premium subscriber, so I guess I'm good for about 1,000 more days with their tiny account or whatever. That's way better than the time I paid for.

I do confess to having slipped a few bucks to a couple of other hosts recently, and so far I am not overly impressed by by either SM or HF. Speeds are no big deal and the quality of content is far short of what RS has been. Although the slew of quality posters here switching hosts may cause the quality issue to change for the better while the speed will likely suffer due to increased use.

I expect in a few weeks other hosts will also turn into to pains to work with, since ALL of them are businesses and they will respond to the increasing demand for their services.

Likewise, RS may well back off their new model when the users leave in large numbers.

Just my opinions, of course.

 

My 2 cents:
An issue that also should be avoided (and that is not 100% related to SM or HF alone), is that posters split files in small pieces in order to get more downloads.

Splitting in parts of 60Mb might have been needed in the early 2000, but is currently not intended to help the downloaders.

 

My 2cents:

Opening up this great forum to malware infested holes like HotPile and $harematrix has been a complete and unmitigated disaster. The first 5 pages of this forum are already filled with borderline spam & it's turned this forum area in to trash already. Having said that though, it's not too late to turn back and cut those allowable hosts out, returning the forum to the glory it was just a week or so ago.

Keeping the forum here virtually restricted to Megaupload and Rapidshare has kept it as pure unabated porn awesomeness for all the community here, with little to no opening for shitty spammers to turn this fantastic forum in to a stinking pile of unusable shite, like what happened to almost every other decent porn forum who let links to hosts outside of Megaupload/Rapidshare be posted.

If these hosts are going to continue to be allowed, they need be shoveled in to a separate forum area, where crapware and spamware hosts like these can be posted and the majority of us don't have to wade through thread after thread of their toxic cash-links, before we find a link worthy of clicking on.

 

There's nothing really wrong with HF or SM other than the judgmental bias from people who don't wanna download from a different host, they work pretty well. MU is also a host that pays cash to posters, you just have to pay for a Premium account there then you can cash out. Not to mention files there go unavailable all the time. RS used to have cash payments, and has had points for years. Both of them have included popups and other BS temporarily over the years. As long as its decent content, one host is no more spam than any of the others.

The vast majority of posters are taking advantage of rewards programs from their links regardless of the file host. MU posts are frequently split down unnecessarily to stupid 100MB parts just so they qualify for the rewards program on that host instead of using the full size they allow for free users to download. Some forums ban MU if its a comparison to other places.

 

every time i go to download from sharingmatrix it just keeps looping saying I still have 9:59 left to wait.....any ideas

 

Hotfile is great, I like them a lot and some nights you can download all you want without restrictions.

Sharingmatrix is playing up and they are changing their name it says, I also got the endless ten minute crap last time I bothered with them.

 

For whatever it's worth, I hope the mods figure out a solution that is a decent compromise. I believe we may have knee jerked with the new RS rules without giving it a chance. This whole thread could have been about RS issues and when it gets TOO much then the option to allow SM and HF could have been opened up as a solution, and even that could have been rolled out in a limited basis to see what would happen.

Opening up the forum like this, all I've seen is a bunch of spam posts and 10 minute waits. It just seems like it devalued the forum as a whole for me.

 

Hotfile is ok from my point of view as Megaupload. Rapidshare can be a problem and Sharingmatrix keeps giving me that 10 minute wait crap. I've also been having problems trying to log onto Deposit Files.

 

SM is very slow, rarely getting over 50kb/ download as free user. (no i don´t buy premium no matter how many sm posts flooding the board.) I would kick SM out or at last make harder rules for posting.... IMHO one Cash Host is enough here and HF is the better one :2cent:

 

Just click on convert rapidpoints. You'll have to do it before July 6th because I think they're deleting all points after that.

 

I think they will be automaticly converted by RS if you not do it yourself. But great.. ey i just did it and now i got 3000 Premiums and 62 000 normal Points left which i cannot convert. So i think i will lose them??? I hope i´m wrong but if not... thanks very much Rapidsh*t.

 

Rapidshare SUCKS now.. now we hav to move toward sharingmatrix,hotfile,depositfile,fileserve

 

I know but what else can we do? I'm not paying for 3 or 4 premium accounts with different hosts. I'll re-activate my MU account if there are enough posters using MU.

Also, the Sexy Vids section is turning into a zoo, everywhere you look their are 2mb files on SM or HF.

It's going downhill IMO.

Hell sod the beginning, I thinks that's all been said...
My RS accounts will now last at least 221 days, and 400 & something days, (last week they were a year and 100's of points to spare.
I have used the remote upload to SharingMatrix/Filesonic as an alternative and interchangeable link however I see they are now swamped by uploaders, or more likely are now trying to cash in by delaying free downloads in the hope users will buy a premium account with them rather than Rapidshare.
So I will continue with Rapidshare until the accounts run out or they change there minds yet again!
Only 6 months ago they were paying me?

Also, just got the endless 10 minutes thing on Sharingmatrix. Counted down 10 mins then said 'sorry, 9:15 to go' and reset itself.

 

I used to upload my files to rapidshare, but after the recent changes I decided to look for another file host.
Noticed a lotta ppl are using sharingmatrix, so thought I'd give it a go.
Opened a premium account a few days ago and started to upload...ooops, time out...let's try again...time out...grrr....again..hey it works..cued up around 2 gb of files..and everything seemed to work fine....except when the upload was finished..there were NO files to manage at all...were they ended up I don't know.
The company told me they'd mail my license information..never received any. Asked for support...never got any.
To sum it all up: I've asked them to refund my money. I wont pay for a service I don't get.
I for one will stay away from sharingmatrix and find another file host...but it's a jungle out there!
Will probably try Megaupload
