I know how it works. People should generally assume that other members have ran a search as i always do.

If people want to search to see if it's a repost then they are free to. But unless this is made into another rule then i won't be doing it.

 

It isn't a rule, as you've said and probably not one we're looking to add. Just merely courtesy, especially if you're reposting someone's pics (which means that the reposted pics could easily be trashed and the unposted ones kept) as opposed to making just a new thread with adds. But it's all good, just don't be surprised if situations arise more often where someone points it out, as was done yesterday.

We'll see what eventuates in terms of whether we'll add that as a rule, if it becomes a problem.

 

If something so frivolous becomes a problem for contributors then it's a shame. Spending free time to come and share in here shouldn't be compounded by rules and regulations that drain the phun from the place. If more rules are added I'll simply refrain from contributing. It's alot less phun when you're getting PM'd about spending your free time sharing and contributing to the phun forums.

 

I'd like to think it won't be a problem. But is it really a problem to do a quick note at the top of the thread saying "sandino posted 'this thread' back in 2007, these have extra pics.' ? That's all, no time at all (seeing as you'd have come across the thread when searching anyway) and then there's no issues. I sure as hell don't want to have to spend time scraping through threads and deleting the pics that have already been posted, we don't want to get to that stage.

You're correct, we don't want to add more rules, we have enough as is. So I'd like to not have to discuss with the other mods that we need another rule, because it's easily avoidable. We want to keep this place as phun as can be, but we need the understanding and support of others for that to be the case. It's a simple bit of etiquette, to acknowledge the previous thread. I'm sure if the roles were reversed and someone posted 40 pics of an actress and you'd posted 25 of those same pics half a year earlier, you'd like it to have been mentioned, otherwise you'd no doubt say something yourself, which would only be fair. Same situation here.
