What's Up With Rapidshare? + New File Hosts

Well this sucks i sign up with FS Paypal sent me emails everything went throught but i still can't DL anything any help?
I sign in @ all but it says i'm a free user WTF...

 

i had that problem earlier, i just logged off and logged on again and that solved it for me. Now it works without a problem

I notice the number of replies per post of filesonic posters, which is 99% of posts now, is next to nothing.

The sense of community of PHUN is disappearing in the sexy video section, which is sad.

Almost every time I start a filesonic download, I kill it after an hour when it shows 2 hours to wait. This is very disheartening.

I could go on and on about this as well, robo99. But I'll keep it concise - The Sexy Videos section has become a true "porn dump". The allure of making a few "cents" on downloads has overrided any other sense of greater commonality that this place used to have.

Part of it is the changing climate of filehosts (the dramatic changes with Rapidshare, the current aggressive attitude of Hotfile), part of it is other boards shutting down. I used to grimace in disgust to anyone using Filesonic - any filehost that cannot be easily accessed by a majority of members from a specific country (UK) isn't something that should be accepted. Now, I just grimace in disgust at the general greed as mass Filesonic links are thrown up by multiple account users with little regard to following any Phun protocol.

Let me fantasize how things will develop here:
In a few months the mods and helping users will be tired of all these triple account reposters, then some rules will be changed or everything will turn into a mess.

But let me add one thing to what you said above: like in real life not the money itself is the problem, but the amount of money (means the greed and the possibility). I'm sure if only 2 or 3 posts would be allowed per day, we would have only half the problems here, and still more stuff than anyone can download.

But after more than half a year of this crap, it's just going worse and worse - There is absolutely NO regard by new users to properly search before posting or even follow the rules on Phun. And in some ways, I can't blame them - all these new users who are repost spamming have no identity or kinship to Phun - they're just dumping links all over the place. For these new users, it's easier to just spam their links, get banned, start a new account and continue spamming THAN just searching in the first place. I mean, I reported 2 "new" users who reposted the exact same batch of scenes in the past hour! That's just a small example that it's easier to spam than to search for these knuckleheads.

What I'm getting is this: The Sexy Videos section will remain a true "porn garbage dump" until real dramatic section changes are made. I'm not talking about adding more rules or change a few rules - I'm talking like a big site revamp. And that's not going to happen... so enjoy the few good posts you can find amongst the piles of garbage.

Filesonic is way behind the fileserve and its very strange that filesonic is allowed here and fileserve not.

Its time to approve fileserve.com in the place of hotfile.com.

I think there should be a poll for a month for replacing hotfile.com with which host.

Every forum has the same affliction, filesonic, so you would think it would be easy to resolve. Forum admin and mods aren't doing anything so there must be some monetary benefit to them for them not to act, or else all the other sections are so profitable they leave videos to the savages.

I come on phun and search a name and if it's filesonic I move onto the next forum. I'm using multiupload now for uploads and it's pretty good.

 

Now a days there is 96% filesonic links and 3% Hotfile links and 1% rest. Its ridiculous and free user have no option. In my opinion there should be at-least 3 cash host allowed so that user have to option to choose.

Should ban all new users who don respect phun forum rules and just want to spread their FS links, not only baning their account but their IP adress , I know its easy to use a proxy but at least thiswill prevent some new spammer here.

As for the host there is only 2 solution:

-allow another cash host if we want to see other links than filesonic ones. As I already said its totally useless to allow filesonic + other non cash host (or not a decent one like megaupload). People will only use FS.

-Or a drastic change and allow only non cash host but thats not going to happen , the webmaster must earn a lot with filesonic (domain sales + probably a good proposition from filesonic). For a forum like Phun its pretty easy to have hundreds of sales daily , probably thousand in some good days.
Plus even the main mod in video section is using FS like crazy to earn some penny so thats never going to happen

 

phun should close registration and start house cleaning.

after that is completed, rope in more guys to be junior moderators and start vetting posts made by new users for a period of 1-2 weeks maybe. there's no point for mods to wait for people to report reposts or stuff like that. It's a never-ending and thankless task

My Hotfile account is terminated. All my links in the videos section are dead.

 

Yeah mine already too on dated 1st march.

 

Chalk me up also, HF zapped over 400 GB of my links yesterday!

 

Filesonic is okay now, was a bit buggy to begin with but I am having no problem downloading as a free user, and quite a lot. All I get is a 'your IP has failed Captcha too many times' message with Fileserve.
