It doesn't make you sound like the Clint Eastwood style tough guy than I suspect you think it does. We're all friends here, chill out. Assume good faith.

    Due to the angle of the shot, if it was the indent to which you refer it should be mirrored on both sides, it isn't. There's nothing on the other side, despite the fact that the sun is clearly coming from the right of the shot, meaning that the other side should (under your theory) have an even bigger shadow.
