    This is exactly why Maria Sharapova is the most important player in the WTA. Sorry Serena and Venus but a Maria victory lifts all boats. Look how desperate they were last year to have to have Anna K come and do an exhibition. She usually stayed away from the Majors after retirment. It may not seem right but the best player ever Martina Navritlova (spelling) never reached the popularity of Chrissy. Come on Maria. The woman's game has fallen behind the men's because you have not won and there is no one else with the glamour to do what you do.
