I dunno, guys. Aside from "Friends," what's she famous for? Getting dumped by Brad Pitt?

Many many films. Considering who else has gotten stars, the surprise is that Jen just got one.

 

Many many films? Like what? I can't even think of one hit she's starred in. The Bounty Hunter was a flop. Horrible Bosses? Flop. The Break Up was a box office success, but a terrible movie. Just saying, she isn't exactly a box office draw.

But I do agree that their standards aren't necessarily high. Jen is proof of that. I did find out recently that the star actually has to pay for their star, so, at least for me, some of the meaning is lost.

 

I'd say starring in a long running TV comedy which had the highest ratings for several years AND saw her as one of the highest paid television actresses of all time about covers it... oh and the nipples, let's not forget the big, nearly constantly errect nipples.

 

Even if she's not necessarily a huge draw, pretty much everyone knows who she is. There are far less popular and famous people with a star.

 

Wow, I wasn't aware that Horrible Bosses made money.

Still, her movies are usually disappointments. Especially the ones she stars in.

Anyway, if they want to give her a star for Friends, I can't argue with that. That show was effing huge.

 

Stars on the Walk of Fame aren't given or awarded, they're purchased by the stars themselves...

Yeah it's not a Nobel Prize.. She may not have done anything good or be an interesting person but she's got huge name recognition.

 

The stars are not purchased as in, the celebrity can't just go and buy a star. They have to first be nominated then selected by some committee. If selected, and the agree with whatever terms, whoever nominated them typically pays for the star.
