Scarlett Johansson - getting a star on The Hollywood Walk Of Fame 05/02/12 (Adds)

If you want to take the walk of fame as some determination of talent, then I think you need a different metric...like oh I don't know, an Academy Award. The walk is a measure of; 1) fame, 2) somebody willing to cough up the $$.

Compared to other 20-something actresses, Johansson has had an impressive career.

 

Jesus, you're a boorish bastard Dick. Never, do you have anything good and/or complimentary to say. You contribute nothing whatsoever, yet it's a consistent/constant stream of whining with you. It's not welcome, and I for one am tired of it. Do all of us (the posters in particular) a favor, and just bleed out/fuck off into the sunset without comment, as the next time we converse over these issues, or if you reply with one of your typical responses, I won't be quite as pleasant, and the conversation will be short, and one sided.

 

I am with Salty. The most beautiful woman in the world (IMO) gets her star, and all we hear is bitching. Scarlett is a talented actress (see the girl with the pearl earing) and she is fucking epic melt a cheese sandwich from across the room hotness. Congrats to miss Johansson. I love any photo op with this goddess. And more adds pretty pretty please!

She's a massive reach. It's true that these things are bought and paid for, and ultimately don't mean a damn thing other than you've achieved some measure of fame. I also wouldn't call her a decent actress. But that's another discussion.

The point is, a 27 year old actress has no business getting a star on the Walk of Fame, even if it is bought and paid for. You should spend a lifetime in show business as a successful entertainer before you get one of these things. Otherwise, you look pretentious and silly, and that's exactly what she looks like.

 

Oh boy you folks need a reality check.
Having personally won multiple awards myself one being an Emmy, I can tell you that we all have to pay for them - they NEVER come free. So, your argument just doesn't wash on her age and that it was paid for. None of these events are just for snobbish work. It is based on how much "entertainment" they have provided. If you're not happy about that, then you are going to be disappointed a lot on very shallow values pretending to be for so called higher values that aren't in sync with the purpose of these events. Just go focus on Oscar blogs where your type of "pretend" values of if "it's uncomfortable to watch it's quality" type of shallow judgment and you can argue with like minds.
Sorry, but these comments are so unaware that it gets me steamed!

 

This much is true, I'll grant you that. We probably make more of it than we should. But it's easy to when you see some of the names who are on there, and what an honor it really is considered to be. No, it's not an Academy Award, but it's still a pretty big deal. Or at least it always has been for me. But I guess if we look at some of the less-than ubertalented people on that walk, it really wouldn't be considered such a big deal.

 

I'm hoping she had to fuck four or five guys to get that. MMmmmmm, I'll be back in a moment....

 

Go look at a list of who has a star on the walk of fame. Some seem to think it is some sort of award. It's just publicity.

As much as i love Scarlett i think that this comes way too early for her.

 

When you get your star on the walk of fame I'll believe your tripe that it's "just" publicity and not an award. The issue of the award aside, everything right down to the name of the company you work for or own yourself is just a form of publicity - granted I'm assuming you do earn a living. So go ahead and continue to be disillusioned by every event that is posted here. Hint - it about the photographs of the women.. not about the event itself. Stop embarrassing yourself by trying to share your lack of wisdom.

Oh and really... Lassie? How is one the most beloved animal stars in history a put-down... unless of course you think you're apparent lack of respect for animals is shared by everyone. It is not.

 

I love these star events - there's always a good chance for an upskirt or downblouse, plus the chick's always on her knees with her ass up in the air!

 

CBS did a good story on the application process, the reporter ended up getting himself a star.

It is a nice story about an entertainer that has written for TV and published several books and does commentary on CBS (defiantly not an unknown outside the industry and not easy to match in accomplishments) So, again it is publicity for CBS that their correspondent qualifies to get the award and Joe construction worker will still not be able to get one. The story says nothing of just anyone being able to get a star and thus proves you have to work hard to get one.
