    And, as it turns out, the dog is pink as a fundraiser for Breast Cancer research! As near as I could find out, the dog gets walked around in London, and is somewhat famous as her owner, Sophie Sumner, is a well-known British model. So people who recognize the pink dog -- and she has her own Twitter page and web page to publicize the whole thing -- stop to take their pictures with her, and then submit the pictures to the web-site with a donation. As long as there's a donation, the person's picture is put on the web-site, advertising them as helping to find a cure for cancer and giving them their fifteen minutes of fame.

    So, not such a stupid, Paris-Hiltonish act of reducing a pet to a fashion accessory after all.

    I thought she was Gordon Sumner's (aka STING) daughter with Trudie Styler - also a cancer survivor - but I have no confirmation of that from my internet sleuthing. :hmmm:
