And while I obviously abhor slavery, it was white civilization that brought African slaves to the west and used their labor to build an infrastructure. However, that infrastructure is not the basis of the world we live in today, and along with the great African-American heroes of the abolitionist movement, it was the blood of white men that was spilled to make it happen.

The west has been abolishing slavery for over 500 years. The United States was the last of the influential states to abolish it, but then it was also the last of these influential nations to be founded. And slavery actually ended 150 years ago with the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. You're attempting to blur the line between slavery and oppression, but this is either an ignorant or dishonest tactic.

Early scientific inquiry, mathematics, and medicine began with the Babylonians, but it also arose independently in Greece, India, and China. Inquiry is a human condition, and does not follow a linear path from one group to another. Part of what's amazing about the Babylonian writings is that it proves this, as much of what they did was unknown by civilizations that followed them.
