Thanks spiderswims. When I was in high school, I was crazy about Mad About You, because it introduced me to Helen Hunt, so this is a dream come true for me.

As for people constantly saying how brave she is for going nude in a film. I'm confused, so what you're saying is going nude in a film is considered brave? Then by that logic porn stars are the bravest people in film, because not only do they get nude, they have actually sex, fluids and all, in front of the camera. Very few actors or actresses have done this in Hollywood out side of Margo Stilley and Kieran O' Brien, and no one called them brave or said their movie 9 Songs was Oscar worthy. I really don't understand this elitist mentality in society, that says an actor or actress is brave for showing skin in films, but porn stars are seen as low lives for going that next step and having real sex on camera.
It seems like society is saying you can simulate the act on camera and you're OK, that fine, but if you actually preform the act on camera then you're trash.

Not trying to start a fight or anything, I don't understand this mindset.

Got rid of some of those shadows, increased detail of the 'important regions', reduced whitewash/overexposure, removed some of the bluish coloring from that (camera phone?), etc - cheers.

No one says eye candy actresses are brave for going nude. They're intention as well as the intention of the pornstars is to titilate and nothing more so no one has respect for them.

it's assumed, when a "serious actor" does it, that it;s for the art and in our culture it's taboo so he or she is doing something that takes guts, especially when it's a middle aged woman who isn't all that pleasing to look at when compared to how she looked 20 years ago.

People don't call pornstars brave for the same reason they don't call prostitutes brave. It's essentially the same thing. Pornstars fuck for small audiences for the purpose of getting the voyeuristic customer off. And that's giving them credit; many fuck on film because they're addicted to drugs or sex or dumb enough to think that adult film is a path to mainstream film. They're more victims than actors.

The reason nobody is saying Margo Stilley or Kieran O'Brien are brave is, well, frankly, nobody saw their movie. But also because 9 Songs seemed more like a porno than a real film. Not because there was real sex in it, but because the plot was paper-thin and played as more of a buffer (not fluffer!) for the sex scenes, which had no emotional depth or resonance. Without a reason to care about what they're doing, it's just fucking.

Helen Hunt, meanwhile, is a 40-something actress who exposes herself physically at an age when most other actresses wouldn't dream of it, in an era when mainstream actresses are refusing to go nude even when it serves the story. And she's doing it for a huge audience. Of course we're not talking about 9/11 bravery, but certainly emotional bravery.

[it's worth noting that the filmmakers have been given credit--along with Kieran--for showing male ejaculation in a mainstream film, so it isn't as if they weren't recognized at all]
