    Herb Ritts? Richardson is a different animal. When an editor wants a photog to draw out the raw "____" in a subject, Richardson never fails.

    You cannot be serious.

    When you think of American photography that is the pinnacle, you have Annie Leibovitz and Ritts. Ritts is known for drawing sexuality out of his subjects, rather than putting them in situations that feels "forced".

    Richardson's pictures are so fucking formulaic it's a joke. Step one: Take hot girl. Step two: Put her in a sleazy environment. Step three: Shoot shitty-lighted black and white shots, possibly on full automatic. Step four: Give her your awful hipster glasses and have her wear it as a "prop". Step five: Give camera to assistant and have him shoot you with model. Possibly doing a double thumbs up.

    He's boring, he's a gimmick.

    I understand your opinion.

    But when I see Richardson's work, I see pure psychology, a vulnerable soul, mood and raw emotion.

    When I see Ritt's work, I see a classical statue. I suppose it comes down to , well, opinion.
