No More Tagged Pics From "Just Jared" unless....

I never said the JJ tag obscures the subject. Thankfully, pics like that are seldom posted here, and fewer scanners are adhering to the practice.

The point I'm trying to get across here is if you can find better quality images to post first, do so, even if that means waiting for them to surface. Phun isn't an originating source for images. As such, we should be more concerned about greater content quality than being first to repost content of lesser quality found elsewhere. I mean, there's a gazillion websites where you can find LQ/MQ images, even after the HQs have been released. It's unfortunate that the practice of releasing LQ images first is even acceptable. As a cabinet maker, it never occurred to me to install junk the first time around, only to have to be called back to repair and upgrade my original work. I would have been out of business in no time at all.

 

No, don't do that. I admit that my OP was a bit rash. My goal is better quality in the first place.

 

I always look for untagged pictures first, but if I can't find any, and JJ is the best available at the time (which isn't even that bad, because JJ quality is actually pretty good), then I'm going to post them. Hope that doesn't get me a ban, but like I said, I try to find untagged pictures first.

its better to get the pics as soon as we can of w/e quality because you never know when its going to be locked down and disapeared thanks to the fed or lawsuits or w/e else

its pretty self explainitory , there are many celeb pictures that got out that later were virtualy scoured from teh internet either by threat of lawsuit or threat of federal punishment like leaked cell phone pics etc that are now if not impossible , REALY difficult to find

if they show up on a site i dont care if they have some stupid tags on them as long as they arnt covering the subject I want to have the pictures because you never know when they will get "disapeared"

That aside; shit happens. That's why it's good to have multiple sources. I do, because the content I'm most interested in tends to get deleted a lot faster and with greater frequency than celeb pics.

In some way, I don't like the rule as it singles out JJ and JJ usually only has the yellow frame and a "JJ" in one of the corner with an opacity of sth. next to 0.4.

But then, as so many people post shitty images to get those click on their uploads, I concur with the overall statement for a better quality. Plus, watermarked pics always can get taken down easier (for whatever reason). For what it's worth: I am not aware of any problematic pics in the recent past which got taken down (not referring to those with minors although I am aware of the new sticky threads).

So... I don't see the specific relation to JJ, rather to the general principle. I'd thus vote for a general ban on tagged pics. But they say, be careful what you wish for...

I wouldn't normally pick on something a moderator says because it nearly always leads to nothing but grief (on any board), but that's just crap.

You specifically told people not to use a picture source and that you were going to trash threads that were created using them with no recourse for the posters of the board when it happens. Sounds like a rule to me.

I also think it's kind of odd how none of the other moderators have said anything about this. Usually you all join in on threads of this vein to express your own opinions, so it seems like this is a singular person making a ruling.
