Um, I disagree. If there's anything that I've learned its that 'Never say Never'; I have faith that when she's in the right formula of a cast and director then she'll totally blow it off the roof. Like the cast of Friends, Cheers, Wings, and even Big Bang theory

 

Lauren Graham was on a few short run shows before Gilmore Girls. There are other actresses who have had similar struggles before getting a hit show. Hope Summer gets one. She's still only in her early 30s.

 

i agree strongly with the idea that miss Summer can still "hit it". however, with past experiences the likelihood of someone still giving her that chance is ... unlikely. same with Eliza. they should both be in hit 1-hour drama/whatever shows on TV. i watched all of Summer's stuff as i did with Eliza. i want them both back on the air. the point was she did have her 'due' and many failures later... it's not likely to happen.

 

She keeps getting more and more beautiful as the years pass. :shock: I'm speechless. :shock: :shock:

Guys seriously, don't be so naive; working in Hollywood isn't that easy. There are things that go on behind the scenes that the general public aren't meant to know; deals are stuck that dictate what actor or actress get what job in film and TV. Certain people decide who becomes a star and who doesn't and acting talent has nothing to do with it. The late comic Patrice O Neal talked about this during an Opie and Anthony interview, the same year he died. And just last month E! ran a very interesting two hour documentary on secret groups in Hollywood. They interviewed various industry insiders, who were somewhat cryptic, but they gave enough information that backed up pretty much everything Patrice said in his interview. It all boils down to what are you're willing to do, in order to be famous, it comes at a price, and favors will be asked of you and if you don't do these "favors" your career is pretty much over. You can audition all you want, but if the word is out of you, you won't get the role. Summer may not be willing to "play a long" with the program, so she's not as big a star as she should be. Patrice went into great deal how things go when you don't "play ball".

Yeah she's on Arron now, but ask yourself how many people do you think tried out for that role and why did it go to Summer and not to a younger up and coming actress? What phone calls were made and who approved her for the role and why? I know this all sound like some wild conspiracy theory, but I go back to, Patrice O Neal's interview, he described way too much insider information to write off things like this as a wild conspiracy.

 

Could be she is just not that good of an actress or can't play a role that requires emotional depth, but that's just my opinion.

Have you watched all of Firefly? She's got the skills, she's just been typecast on geek or sci-fi oriented TV shows.

 

Yes, I've actually watched everything she has done from Firefly to her current gig which is how I came to that conclusion. Her inability to show any emotional depth worked in Firefly and the Terminator show, but watch her in anything else and it's as if a mannequin is reading lines, nothing else there but a pretty face.

Guess it depends on how you define emotional depth. This looks emotionally depthy to me. But be that as it may, these kinds of discussions are frowned upon here, so I'll leave it at that.

 

I never said it was my friend. In the English language, we use "I think" to express the fact that an utterance is an opinion, which by definition can not be truth. By the way, you're entitled to yours too, with no denigration thereof. Morena Baccarin is hot, I just find Summer Glau to be hotter. Period.

 

Actually, these kinds of discussions are not frowned upon. Its civil and certainly on topic with regard to the subject.

 

Oh cool. I wasn't sure if it was just those contentious back-and-forths.
