    After a quick search Katy's Net Worth is currently at $95 million, with an estimated yearly earning of $30-$50 million from performances, merchandise, endorsements etc.

    where as "the select few females who make it to the top of the industry, paychecks can be upward of $350,000 a year" (direct quote from businessinsider article) so I think she is in the right industry.

    Those women you mentioned are non-entities. If someone with the caliber of Katy perry or Britney Spears were to release, or 'accidentally' leak a sex tape, I think they would clean up in profits.
