A PG-13 Robocop is heretical.

I was disappointed when I saw that as well.

 

I wrote this off the second I saw Robocop taking cover. The PG-13 only adds to the joke.

I agree 100% with both of you guys. As someone that has seen all three Robocop movies (numerous times), all the episodes of the live action 90's Robocop TV series and the 4 part Robocop Prime Directives TV movie, I have a very good understanding of Robocop and this movie completely missed the point of the title character. My biggest problem, outside of them keeping the human hand, is that they didn't blank his memory, when they turn him into a cyborg, then they take him apart to show him what human parts are left of him and they wonder why he cries and wants them to let him die? Seriously Robocop cries. WTF. This is suppose to be Robocop not the 1971 film Johnny got his Gun. For you young guys, that's the black and white film footage seen in Metallica's One video. You know the video, were the guy with square mask over his face, with no arms or legs and keeps saying, "They went and chopped off everything!!!!! I'm going to be like this for years!!!! Father I'm having a nightmare and can't wake up!!! Why don't they just get it over and kill me!!!!" That's not suppose to be Murphy's mind set; his sense of duty is way greater than is sense of dread over what he's become.

Both Robocop the Series and Robocop 2 addressed that Murphy survived this horrific fate, because of his strong religious up bringing (he's a devote Irish Cathoic) and he has a very strong sense of duty. He's not suppose to cry and beg, "Let me die. Kill me". They made Murphy a wuss in this movie, then they drug him up to make him follow their commands WTF. What about up loading something called "Prime Directives" that control his actions, nope let's drug him up, to get him to do what we want. This is not Robocop. This is some Transhumanism nightmare with bits and piece of the original Robocop thrown in for nostalgia sake and a PG-13 rating to get teens' money. Nothing more.

Oh... I forgot, Olivia looks good in that dress. I love her freckles. Aimee Garcia looks amazing and I've been lusting after her every since I first saw her on the George Lopez show. Seeing her semi-nude in the last season of Dexter was a treat.

 

You've almost convinced me to watch it just to see how bad it is.
