Never understood why a pro fighter would get implants. Maybe that's why her career has taken a bit of a header since.

She shouldn't be wearing the sunglasses - it hides her pretty eyes and emphasizes her big nose.

Not sure what the term means, but getting the implants is absolutely a career move. If you're not going to be the absolute best (and she's not), the money lies not in being a great female fighter but being a decent female fighter who is also hot. She's by far the second biggest female draw in the UFC after Ronda even though there at least five or six other women who are equal or better skill wise.

Gina Carano was a joke of a fighter compared to some of the girls currently in the UFC, but she parlayed the look into being a big star. Ronda Rousey is an elite fighter, but she wouldn't be half the star she is if people didn't think she was pretty.

 

a joke of a fighter? lol, are you stupid? she's the only one to have a competitive fight with that steroid using he/she cyborg. i think rousey is the only female in the ufc better than carano when she was fighting.

if she signed with the ufc, she'd get an immediate match with rousey for the title. i'm banking on it to happen by the end of this year. she'll definitely lose being out of the fight game so long and rousey is better than carano ever was. still it'll be hot to watch all the hype, weigh-in's, and fight between 2 good lookin women.

 

She got completely destroyed by Cyborg...lost via first round TKO.

Have no idea why you're going on about her being competitive or calling me stupid - you clearly don't have any recollection of the sport. During the Elite XC/Strikeforce era, Gina was the *ONLY* fighter who couldn't survive a round against Cyborg (save for Yamanaka, but that was the fight for which Cyborg got popped for roids).

And she'll get the title shot because she's marketable. But no one's kidding themselves into thinking she has a chance to win. Women's MMA has evolved significantly over the past few years. Carano got by with a modicum of skill back in the day (although she never beat anyone good anyway); the girls now have matured into legitimate, well-rounded fighters.

 

Miesha handled Liz Carmouche pretty easily, even though Miesha was pretty out of it in the first round of that fight. She's a hell of a fighter, though she's got some major weaknesses - doesn't always come out in the first round raring to go (as in the Carmouche fight), has a hard time keeping to her strategy (as in the Rousey fights).

I meant that she went from being champ to barely being a top-ten fighter in a sport (women's MMA) that might not have ten truly elite fighters.

My point about the implanta is that it must make fighting more difficult. I understand your point, though. I just don't think they'll help her MMA career, which is part of the equation if you want to parlay into a career in film. Gina Carano probably couldn't hang with the girls today, but she was a champ during her peak popularity. Ronda is pretty, but it's her winning that has he famous.
