    Well, it may or may not be, but naming people after countries, continents or other land masses seems a little pretentious and silly. You can argue the point, which I'm sure you will, but I honestly don't care.

    That is the opposite of this discussion. I'm saying that taking the name of an already established territory and applying it as a name to someone is pretentious, not the other way around.

    It would be like me naming my daughter Pluto if I were an astronaut.
