My guess is that the casting couch happens way less often than people fantasize about but more often than people in the business would willingly admit. Now since we don't know what type of "meeting" Selena was going to we have no idea why she dressed like that. I am surprised that she dressed like that in front of the paps and made no effort to keep them from shooting her ass. I guess that all that you can really say is that she did it on purpose, whether for publicity or to make someone jealous, who knows? Or maybe she just wanted to show us her ass. Nobody would describe her as an A list musical act

She gets points for being a multi-media act, but you also need to consider what she is today, and not when her Disney Channel show was on. And even then, being on a Disney/Nickelodeon show doesn't make you A list. Victoria Justice and Jeanette McCurdy, for example, are definitely not A list stars.

Selena was in Spring Breakers? So was Ashley Benson. Definitely not A list.

The one movie where Selena could be considered the star, which was The Getaway, was a flop. Calling her an A list movie star is insane.

What has Selena done for the past year, beyond being known as Beiber's girlfriend? She was popular before Justin, yes. But she wasn't A list then, and she's definitely not A list today.

i don't think she's A list either. can most people even name a single song she's put out? probably not. she's probably more famous among teens, but not adults. i know her really most from that james franco white rapper gangster fairy tale movie. forgot the name, but her and vanessa hudgens were so hot in it.

i'd bet if you took a random poll of people on the street 99 out of 100 could not name a single song, movie, or anything she's done. she's just one of those famous cuz she's hot and has talent to put out stuff, but nobody really knows what the fuck she's done. i only know her from spring breakers and when i think of that movie i think of it as james franco being awesome and a bunch of b level celebs acting like sluts.

 

The internet estimates 16, not "upwards of 20". Justin Bieber?, Upwards of 150million. Kathy Griffin, who coined the phrase "D-list" celebrity? Now she's the one at 20 million. Lets face it, many of the young starlets here that we love to ogle are just that, starlets. Ashley Tisdale and Benson, Vanessa Hudgens, Selena, Julianne Hough and the like are nowhere near being A list stars. Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Scarlett Johansson, they're actual stars.

Look at the Billboard concert charts. You'll see Taylor Beyoncé,and Madonna and even Lady Gaga. Guess who you don't see? This "wickedly famous" Selena. How many number one hits has she had? None, her top song "Come and Get IT" stopped at number six. It seems to me that a "wickedly popular music star" needs to have at least one number one song.

Now personally if you read what I posted I never said that she went there to blow or screw some guy. My contention however, and this is in agreement with some other posters, is that she really isn't a really big star. She has her audience to be sure, those who used to watch her Disney show for example. But ask Hilary Duff what can happen to that. Right now she's Debbie Gibson and Tiffany and Hilary and and a dozen or so others. As are many of the other starlets on here. Even Miley is having her troubles, her telecast of her "Bangerz" tour was evidently disappointing.

^^ I have to agree with the OP. I did not know of Selena Gomez before she dated Bieber. Even now, I'm not that interested but these pics are nice. That said, if you compare her to Bieber, she is a D-Lister or an F-Lister. She isn't on the same level as him, not even 3-4 levels close to him.
