Don't put your money in the bank, or stuff it in your mattress, or in a coffee can buried in your backyard.

In the 21st century an online backup is the equivalent of a safe in your house. Online banking, email, social networking, random ass forums on the internet (phun!?), these are now the analogues for analog places, services, and experiences and I assume you expect security and privacy when you cash a check at the bank, talk to someone on the street, at a local coffee shop, etc. Also I assume living in the 21st century that you make use of all the previously mentioned digital things. If you feel the cloud getting hacked is just a fact of 21st century living, I shudder at your thoughts on paperless, networked voting or smart internet connected devices, such as cars, TV's, electrical usage meters, and even pace makers now. I can agree to disagree on that and I'm not defending these celebs so much as the principle notion that digital theft and invasion is a crime and that they have agency to decide what kind of information about themselves (celeb or pleb included) they expose to the public and they are justified in experiencing an emotional reaction should this privacy and security be breached.

iCloud is more like the 21st century equivalent of leaving a bowl of candy out in front of your door for Halloween and putting a note asking people to be nice and only take one piece. Apple all but literally put up a sign on the iCloud log-in page saying "Please be a nice fellow and don't use the password recovery function for accounts that aren't your own." Putting your trust in iCloud's laughably bad security was a ticking time bomb and was ultimately a good wake-up call to everyone that blindly feels like trusting a corporation with their intimate digital files that they have virtual no control over. Would it have been better if some white hat just alerted Apple about their horrid security for iCloud years ago? Certainly. But that didn't happen and so here we are.

It happened ok ... and yes this shit is part of the 21st century. In the 20th century one would steal their camera or negatives or pics etc. Now you hack their pc or the cloud etc.
    It's all relative.

Btw, most of us thank these 'criminals' for bringing us the Fappening ... so deal.

For the record, I also think she was either stupid or incredibly naive to take those nude pics. Should she be able to live in a world where she can take whatever pics she wants, for whomever she wants, and store them wherever she wants without anyone wanting/trying to steal them? Yes, of course, but sadly she doesn't live in such a world. Even 'normal' people like us are targets of hacks and leaks, and obviously celebrities are much bigger targets. She took a big risk, it didn't pay off. Putting people who've seen her pics in the same bracket as rapists is obscenely inappropriate. They're so widespread now that someone might see some of them without even looking for them.

You have me confused with someone else.

Meh. People want to take pics on their phones so they can send it to someone else with a phone. Nothing wrong or inherently ignorant with that. The "iCloud" is a relatively new thing. People weren't familiar with its quirks and failings. But justify it however you like. I don't care.

I think the only issue up for debate is the way she reacted, not the morality of hacking into an account and distributing its contents across the web. Her beef is with Apple and the perpetrators, not with those who surf a website.

This is gospel and real truth to me. Tell me her and he BFFs wouldn't be glomming those pics with a glass of wine and a smile.

JLaw is intensely sexy and her released pics only back this up. They were largely classy and showed off her assets. She didn't do a Hope Solo Hustler on crack shot. I understand her disgust with the hackers but in later years there will be proof that she was once one of the hottest women on earth in her birthday suit.

To do some naked and 'tasteful' nudes after your iphone pics are hacked isn't that brave.
It's saving face and saying .... "look, I do this stuff anyway". HaHa ... so funny.

They have no reason to say no to nudity now in movies :D

I love her body though. Still, she is a bit of a looper - seen her in interviews.

Not completely. I have an iPhone and all I have done since the iCloud came out was not sign up to it (which I highly recommend to all my friends with iPhones).
