    I heard her song New Americana (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-eYbUVZedY) on a rock radio station and I listened to the album but it was more of that electronic pop music that is becoming more popular these days. The kind that uses computers and sound machines to make you think they have talent enough to play real instruments when they actually aren't.

    70s classic rock? No thank you, never really got into that. That's my father's music.

    '90s, 2000s, 2010s is more like it. I just like rock music where they rock hard with real guitars and real drums. Foo Fighters know where it's at.

    Saw her live when she opened for Imagine Dragons last year in Philly. The music makes me want to stab myself in the temple, but that body sure is nice to look at.

    I know this was a weird thread to bring it up since it was just negativity about her music but whatever. I didn't want to bring it up in a Kardashian, Jenner, Iggy, Minaj, Kristen Stewart, Ke$ha, Amy Schumer, Chelsea Handler and a whole bunch of others threads cause I don't want to deal with some long ass conversation.

    Thank goodness the 90s, and 2000s didn't have any popular artists who didn't play their own instruments :D Seriously, what difference does it make whether they're a singer who hires session musicians or they're a singer who uses electronic music? You don't have to like electronic music (it's just personal taste), but I don't think you can pretend there's a difference in "real artist" between the two.

    All I meant was her music uses the new computer technology to simulate the sounds of real instruments, and that I prefer the sound of real instruments. I don't have to look back to the '70s to find what I prefer in today's music. But she also doesn't have to be classified as rock music either, which she mistakenly has been.

    There are people here who constantly say the same things about different people. Like is her boob job fake; or they hate tattoos. By now everybody knows what you do and do not like. Most people know my pet peeve. Face it fellas 99% of the women posted here have exactly zero talent. Just like in real life you would date the hot girl who worked the graveyard shift at 7-11, rather than the not hot PhD who took a shine to you. Spider is right to be bummed about this negative shit.     What stands out to me is that her voice sounds exactly like 20 other different female vocalists. Is that a certain style of vocals? Why do they sound so much alike? Weird.

    True, but I also grew up with Mariah Carey, Boys to Men, and Ace of Base, but I don't prefer those. I can easily find music I like in today's music. The rest of Halsey's music is just not what I expected from hearing New Americana on a rock radio station. They shouldn't lump her together on a station that also plays Foo Fighters, Three Days Grace, Imagine Dragons, Muse, and Arctic Monkeys.
