It's a shame they aren't taken advantage of her natural talents on that show. She clearly super experiences with fucking a blind man, they should incorporate that into the show.

The biggest tease in the world.

 

You say this as if actors live to take their clothes off. Umm, no...those are porn actors. Mainstream actors live to make their mark in acting, be it in film, tv or theater. Yes, many mainstream female actors do take their clothes off as part of their JOB, but no, they aren't dying to take them off, and those that don't are not teases. Am I unhappy that she hasn't done any nudity till now? Of course. But do I think she's a tease and enjoys teasing us? No. She's simply averse to nudity. She and Ms. Alba are two at the very top of my list of those I'd like to see some on-screen nudity from, but knowing how both are averse to it, I doubt that will ever happen.

 

She is the biggest tease in the world, whether you care to admit it or not. You may have have forgotten what she did on True Blood, but I haven't.

Of course not all the actresses have to get naked and it's ok if they choose not to. Deborah isn't a tease because she doesn't do nudity, she's a tease because she willingly accepted a role that requires nudity and refused to do it when the story demanded it. There are many scenes on the show which clearly required her to get naked, yet she refused to do it time and time again, showing everything but her nipples. If that's not teasing, I don't know what is.

Like I said before, if she's not willing to get naked, no problem, let someone else who's not afraid to do it accept the part. But if you accept a role, you accept everything that role entails, including nudity. I have no respect for actresses that knowingly accept a role that calls for them to get naked and then they refuse to do what is required of them.

 

Oh my, she should be jailed for this major failing!

Were there really scenes which clearly required her to show nipples otherwise the scene would be ruined and its purpose lost? She got close enough that it seems to me the story purpose was achieved.

But even if I agree that actresses shouldn't take roles and then back out of the expected nudity, then I don't see how this makes them a "tease". It makes them chicken maybe, or a bit prudish, or at worst a straight liar. The only way I would agree this makes her a tease is if she agreed and then backed out explicitly to get viewers excited before gleefully disappointing them. A tease is not "someone who I'd love to see naked but gets close without ever fully doing so". In the general sense of the word, the whole point of teasing people is the reaction. Do you think she did it for the reaction?

 

Kind of like Jennifer Aniston. Every time she has a movie coming out lately, it's oh I'm getting naked in this one, then lo and behold when it hits the theater there is always an excuse why she's not.

 

I take your point about actresses accepting roles with requirements they are unwilling to fulfill, but that simply isn't the case here. She signed on to True Blood for a two episode arc that had no nudity requirement. She was well liked by production, so by the end of the season they offered her a recurring role set up in the finale. She nor the writers had any idea where her character, or the rest of the show for that matter, was going. It is clearly the writers fault for pushing the character beyond her comfort zone. I don't think she can be blamed for Daredevil either. There seems to be a limit to what Marvel/Disney is willing to show.

I know this doesn't erase the frustration of 6 seasons of teasing. Just know it was the writers and not Deborah to blame.
