Nope, using Firefox and my Norton Security flagged it and came up with a message telling me it blocked an exploit kit from accessing my system.

Same exact thing here. Every single time I click on a file form imgcredit, it blows up Norton.

 

perhaps his other image hosts don't pay so well? or he'd change his host in a heartbeat ?

 

I've had no issues with his host, nor have any of the mods who tried to recreate your problems. Your anti-virus programs are over-sensitive. I run McAfee and Windows Defender and use Chrome with AdBlock and Popup Blocker. Never had a warning. He's gone well out of his way to address an issue only a handful of people have encountered. I don't know what else he can do.

Honestly, I'd rather have an over-sensitive antivirus than one that's more lax. Had so many issues with the bloody things over the years, especially with using McAfee (which seems to be the worst I ever had and let them through willy-nilly) and AVG (both paid and free).

This time, I dared to try and open an image from that host again and got no warnings, thankfully. Just going to state that I'm usually very wary of any image hosting site that isn't Imgur now that Imagebam is leaving us because for me, the tried and trusted hosts I've used for years tend to serve me well and there's not as much risk of contracting something that will fuck up my system and lose years worth of work with the ones I know.

 

Nothing thankful about it, he addressed the issue like a professional.

Imgur is a shit host. They routinely compress and resize files and don't allow for thumbnail linking offsite, which is why we want nothing to do with them. Imgur is really only useful for reddit.

 

Safari on iOS says "Safari cannot open the page because it couldn't connect to the server"

Firefox on iOS, it works fine

I'm fairly certain, I was able to use Safari on iOS, a day or two ago
