    I chose to try a larger image size in this post. Not sure it will be worth it since the quality of the image is reduced to meet the 3mb limit.

    PS Not sure exactly what you're trying to do regarding image sizes, Aus! If you're enlarging pics, you'll always lose definition, and it's not worth it! And if you're reducing the file size of "vast" images simply by increasing the JPG compression factor, you'll also lose definition! Whereas, if you reduce the image dimensions, and use a moderately high JPG compression factor, you shouldn't suffer any marked loss of definition at all!

    I just selected to download the "UHQ" images this time but most of the better shots were over 3mb and imagevenue will not let you load images over 3mb. So I reduced them by using a lower jpeg compression which causes loss of quality. Other choice, make them smaller... Then why download the larger?

    It depends what image manipulation software you've got at your disposal, Aus! I like downloading the maximum image size there is, just for my own personal use, and I have several types of image software I can use to fiddle with them. But I agree that if you're only acquiring it to upload to imagevenue, and thence onwards to phun, then downloading the appropriate file sizes in the first place makes more sense!

    Size, quality... whichever you choose, I'm sure it'll be fine. :)

    If I get one that's over 3mb I'll usually take the compression down about 15%, without resizing it. Any lower, and it's noticeable. It's up to you how much hassle you wanna go through. I'm good either way. ;)
