Thanks count + Thanks button missing

Yeah it's obvious and it's happened before - but figured I'd report it now before there are half-a-dozen other posts here asking "WHERE THE FUCK IS THE THANKS BUTTON".

 

New vBulletin upgrade is in the works, might see some other "issues" until it's all sorted out. Please be patient while Cayne gets it all up and running.

 

this "thanks"-feature is not a vbulletibn-default-feature but an external modification/add-on. as for now it`s likely a "collateral damage" of the upgrade. we`ll working on that.

 

I like it without the thanks button. No more competition on who's got how many whatever.
Get rid of the postcount and it's perfect.

Exactly. Unless the board comes up with a new way of tracking posts for individual users, the Thanks button is almost essential with as much content as is posted on this board.

The 'Search' function is also missing.

It`s not a competition ... just a nice way !

 

You guys do such great work, I can live with what ever you got going until you get it the way you want it. Just plain great work.

I'm sure that's great maybe for someone who doesn't post much, if barely any at all pron content like yourself, but for others who post pics and vids, it's the only thing that shows us that our effort is appreciated. Considering we don't get paid and do this in our spare time, I prefer to know how many people view my threads and how many people like my individual posts. The number of thanks a user receives is also a good indicator that the person is posting quality. Posting good quality content takes time and thanks is what we receive in return. The "competition" as you put it keeps us going, pushing us forward to post more and better content to garner more thanks. But then again, you wouldn't know something like that.

People who don't post content would be glad to see the thanks button go, that way they can view other people's efforts and not have to click thanks or acknowledge the thread at all. Sorry, but that's not what the forum is about. If you don't want to click thanks and drop a line every now and again acknowledging the efforts of the poster, than I'm afraid forum life ain't for you buddy.

So far the update on the site looks and feels great. Here's hoping the thanks button comes back soon and all previous thanks are added back on. Over 40,000 for me. How bout you Cunt?

For someone who's around just 20 months you're assuming alot, especially since I haven't seen you around in the CB. Oops, yep there are other subforums than "pron" around here.
I did my share of pic (removed now due to copyright issues) and vid uploads, "but then again, you clearly don't know about that". Links are over 3 years old and still active ... how's that for "quality"?

Ditto! That's how I keep track of what I've viewed/downloaded. It's also a great way to thank the posters for their work without having to make a post for everyone that you view/download.

 

Cayne has contacted the hosters with a working version/hack to get the thanks count to come back. He hasnt gotten an answer from them yet but it is up to them now when and if the thanks function comes back.

If this means the old numbers will be back or if everyone has to start from zero again is something that we will have to see.

Whine as you may, we have no control over them. Cayne has spoken to them about this, and the issue will be resolved in time. This is the second, and last time in two separate threads that I've responded to you where the thanks button is concerned Lirva. The next time we "speak" of this, I assure you, it will be a one sided conversation.

 

I agree with the above arguments in favor of the Thanks button.

But whatever the arguments for and against, the bottom line is: Without the thanks button we'd be getting a lot less material provided. And this is what counts in the end.
