    Damon Albarn (English pronunciation: /ˈdeɪmən ˈɔːlbɑːn/, born March 23, 1968.) is an English singer-songwriter and record producer. He has been involved in many high profile projects and collaborations throughout his career. Albarn came to prominence as the frontman and primary songwriter of Britpop band Blur, but is also known internationally for his work with popular virtual band Gorillaz, within which he serves as the principal songwriter and lead vocalist. Subsequent projects have included The Good, the Bad & the Queen, Monkey: Journey to the West and Mali Music.

    To me Oasis were a rock band, Blur were a pop band....kinda like why I always preferred The Stones to The Beatles.

    Having said that, gotta respect Damon's diversity - some of the Gorillaz stuff is very cool, and I really liked the one and only Good The Bad & The Queen album....but then again as a massive Clash fan, I kinda would! ;)
