Sig of the week - Week 1 Voting

Wasn't easy, I really liked several of them more than the others. First impression decided it for me though.

Aaaah, i think i see what azz means. I took numero uno to mean that madhater was saying he was in first place when he probably meant that he was voting for number one.

My review of whats going on. (reviewed my own too so as not to give me away )

1. Ace composition and subject. Not to mention a perfect colour balance scheme.
2. This was my first choice. The size especially won me over.
3. This is usually a colour scheme i hate but it works so damn well. It won straight off as soon as i said it. (MY VOTE)
4. Excellent sig. I disagree with the repeat image and think this would have rocked even more with a shorter base length.
5. Great piece of work. Cut is ace, kat is ace. The only thing that didnt sell me is the compostition!
6. Perfect balance of image and text and a brilliantly chosed pic.
7. Good use of a simple medium. Deadpool ROCKS, even though the sig looks more like a cartoon poster.
8. Love the cut-out and style. The only thing i am not sure about is the text.
9. ACE sig. Still trying to figure out how those TV lines were done.......
10. Minimalist exellence. This is usually what i go for first .

Maaaan, after having such a clear winner for so long we now have a real battle . I never expected so many sigs to be put in never mind so many folks voting. I always though only creative crew checked this place out.

Thanks. I am pretty sure i know who 2 and 3 are but the rest are driving me nuts.

 

obviously I know who made which, but if I hadn't known I would have guessed number 2 and 3 right... There's a certan something about them that's recognizable.

I didnt want to guess which any of the sigs belong to...but now im trying to guess

 

Looks like a Ron Divine pinstriping brush in a light color.
You can create it yourself by filling a single row with white and copying/moving it some pixels over and over until you get a full size overlay; look at it as a kind of gradient with white going to transparent to white etc...

The lighting is generated with (Thomas) Knoll Light Factory from Digital Anarchy; it's a plugin filter for PS CS versions.

If you search for "Ron's Pinstriping" and "Knoll Light Factory" I'm sure you'll find a download somewhere on the netz.

I gotto set a deadline for voting... since I have a job where I start very early in the morning it's not realy possible for me to set the deadline at 00:00 hours tonight. I was thinking about closing the voting at 9pm, which means 10 and a half hours from now.
