    Wait... new Lord of the Rings movie????? WHY??? The Jackson one are not even 30 years old.

    That said, it's not like current Hollyweird writers are capable of doing the source material justice (or even write a semi-coherent story) so it's almost certainly something I'll just ignore.

    its not a remake a new story the hunt for Gollum some stars from lord of the ring and the hobbit star in it in but mainly a new cast some playing younger version like strider . directed by andy serkis produced by jackson and his team. there a very much a teaser dropped this week more bts first day shooting out late 2027

    OK, that makes slightly more sense... still, Andy Serkis as director is not exactly good news and something that inspire confidence. Jamie Dornan as Aragorn is a rather interesting choice (one that might actually work) considering he is actually older now then Viggo Mortensen was when the trilogy was filmed.

    Still, my point about current Hollywood being unable to do justice to source material or even write semi-coherent story stand. Unless there is a ton of stuff about it (which I don't remember reading in anything Christopher Tolkien published after his fathers death) what we'll get is modern Hollywood's version of the story only loosely based on Tolkien's work... basically, another utter and complete disaster like Rings of Power.

    Besides, even Peter Jackson's involvement is questionable at this point considering Jackson choose Steven Colbert as screenwriter for one of the upcoming movies...
